Designed by Ed Rawlings Architects/ with interiors with Jim Walrod/ Thompson LES radiates the creative undercurrent of its neighborhood. Among the hotels edge-defining backdrops are its facade/ embodying the ultimate in clean/ industrial New York. 141 rooms featuring custom-made light-boxes by Lee Freelander and graphic paintings by Ryan McGinness/ a rooftop pool displaying an image of Andy Warhol/ creative by Gerald Malanga/ and its restaurant featuring large scale paintings by legendary artist Peter Halley. Thompson LESs 18 stories also house a labyrinth of social hotspots such as an outdoor pool and bar/ Above Allen/ a private outdoor-indoor terrace bar open year round/ and Shang/ a global Chinese restaurant from famed chef Susur Lee.

The Lower East Side/ the area that stretches from Houston Street to Delancey Street and bordered by Bowery Street and the East River/ is quickly becoming one of the most exciting and eclectic neighborhoods in Manhattan.
